Club Race - Saturday 4th July

This coming Saturday's Race is a Club Race. The course will be posted by Thursday evening.
The following week the 11th July is the 3rd Round of the Johns Cyclesport Series. The progressive points table will be available soon.
Last weeks race was a little down on numbers with many of our riders travelling to Tamworth, Gunnedah and Coonabarabran for two days of racing.

A large field of riders lined up for Round 1 of the Johns Cyclesport Series. Commissaire Stan Brims and several new club Level 1 Commissaires marshall at the start for a rider briefing. Round 2 is scheduled for the 20th of June, 2009. The leader in each grade over the duration of the four round series will wear the newly designed Johns Cyclesport '1' number.
Victory Ford TTT

Five riders from the Murwillumbah Cycle Club fielded a 'Victory Ford' team for last Sunday's Team Time Trial held at Rous over a distance of 55km. The team, lead by Peter McMahon and included Peter Larsen Anthony Murray, Neil Pollack and David Price nominated a time of 1hr32 prior to the start and came in 3 minutes under the nominated time and placed fourth overall. Murwillumbah Cycle Club major sponsor Victory Ford kindly provided a team car for the weekend for both the Saturday afternoon club race and Sunday morning TTT. Thanks Victor.

An opportunity exists for Level One Commissaires to gain the necessary hours to complete their accreditation with Cyclig Australia. So if you are one of the 26 members who participated in the recent course please consider jumping in a support vehicle this Saturday afternoon.

Category 3 Open Racing returns to Murwullimbah

Next Saturday afternoon the 16th of May, 2009 see the return to Category 3 road racing at Murwillumbah starting with Round 1 of the John's Cyclesport Series. The popular annual event will be conducted over four rounds throughout the revised racing calender. Points are accumulalted over the four rounds but does not prohibit riders competing in one or more races.
